Can any locals guide me about how long to allow to get from J12 to J7 mid day Saturday?

|
On a clear run a relaxed 20 to 25 minutes and around that time of day you've got the best chance of it being clear.
|
It's about 23 miles. So if you can average 70 mph = 20 mins.
The trouble is the unexpected might be, er, expected to happen, and delay you.

shouldn't be a problem, the busy bit is between M3 and M40 usually. expect normal motorway speeds
|
Even the Western side of the M25 usually flows fairly freely, often at 80 or 90mph but seldom for long at that speed. When congested the traffic seldom comes to a standstill.
Of course I don't use it at regular times, and luckily have never been held up by a major crash.

agree with the abovepostings
My query is why junc 7 of the M25.
There is only slip road there, either to Gatwick, or up toward Croydon. If your heading to Gatwick if there is an accident, you can almost guarantee it will be between JUNC 7 and the next exit, 10+ miles further along. It can be a disaterous mistake, if running tight for plane timetables to go this route -if traffic is free flowing go for it- if not come off at 8 and head thru Reigate or down to junc 6 and go down the A22.
Most saturdays at this time though won't be a problem

The destination is very close to J7. Thanks for the info everyone, very useful.

j12 to J 11 will be busy and slow. 11 to 7 will be a breeze. ( I live near j11)

firstly there ain't anything close to Junc 7 going south, so you be going northwards, and secondly shouldn't you be preparing yourself for the England game and ensuring you don't conceed anything, not taxiing around the m25
