Does anyone still import cars from abroad? - wazza
Years ago there was heavy media coverage of how private buyers can buy a new car from abroad and import it saving thousands in the process.

Do people still import cars nowadays or do they find that some garages/car supermarkets offer similar deals?

If you had imported a new car recently what did you buy, from which country and what savings did you make.

Naturally i am talking about buying a RHD cars

Yes, there's a fair number still at it. Skoda, Range Rover, Subaru, Honda etc etc. All with decent discounts (£k's). Try Motorpoint, newregcars/allbrandsnew. Bob Gerard (Honda) and so on. Alll with websites I imagine.

A friend of mine is in the USA right now and is arranging shipping of a brand new Pontiac Solstice back to the UK, lovely looking car from the rear, but the front is a bit questionable!

Can't wait to see it though, he thinks it will take about 30 - 40 days to land here then it needs the SVA test etc.
