Any anoraks here who will be looking out for cars today (1st Sept) and onwards which are sporting the new reg 57?
Used to do it as a kid.

I'll be keeping an eye out in (a fairly relaxed, non-anorak way)...

My life is a bit sad but not THAT sad! You could describe my attitude as NFI!

30 odd years ago, i loved spotting new cars, probably because our car was always 5+years old,and it was jealousy. i'll be on the look out for words that can be made BE 57 MAN, BE 57 BOY , HE 57 INZ (I KNOW THAT CAN'T BE DONE BECASUE OF THE "I") but again I'm driving around in a 5 year old car so again a little jealous

I saw a '57' yesterday (31st). Now how's that possible?
Peanut.
|
Because it was parked on a dealer's forecourt awaiting pick up? I think it would have been technically illegal on the road on 31st unless it had trade plates on it as well.
|
It was driving along...no trade plates.

Friend picks up his latest Alfa in a long series. He is obviously smitten having had two very rusty Suds in the 70s/80s.
Alfa GT Blackline. Black with black leather interior. Look forward to seeing it.
Probably black indicators on dash as well and as driven by Hotblack Desiato.

First 57 plate I saw was a Jaguary XKR.... hit by a police van semi-head on last week. Someone was meant to get it today. Looks like a 3-4 months wait. Could be worse... A3 Sportbacks are 7-8 months!

Sorry OldSkool accidentally deleted your post about the 57 reg RAV4 on your drive.
|
|
An Audi convertible beautiful in black with deep red top kept going up and down the road in front of my house. After a while i noticed it is 57 reg and he was showing off.

New reg spotting died when the prefix letter was discontinued. Most people don't have a clue what the new system means, and the days of "Wow, an R reg" have long gone.
