Bit superficial though. Let everyone off with hardly more than a caution, when for sheer villainy and governmental naivety the whole episode took some beating. If it had happened in China heads would have rolled, literally.

The one thing I didn't know was that the Delorean had so much Lotus Esprit under the skin, cruciform chassis included. I thought Lotus had designed the suspension (although the car still didn't handle) and helped JD with a bit of creative jiggery-pokery in other areas.

And why did we have to see once again, after forgetting him, the incredibly rude, stupid and slow former racing driver Irvine? What was his contribution except to look at the engine and say he didn't like it? Right accent of course, but no discourse. I'd rather have had the Rev. Ian Paisley.

I have never seen anyone look more shifty and more like a cad than Colin Chapman looked in some of those clips. I am sure Dick Dastardly was modeled on him.

Agreed lud. At least Paisley would have hated it with passion and at great discourse. What a waste of DNA Irvine is.

The point was emphatically made that the Irish Republic government and the Tories were too fly to be taken in, wicked old Jim Prior looking sly.

No proper assessment of the car was given, not even by the ghastly Irvine.

The throwing of money at Northern Ireland at that time is easy to understand. And it was impossible not to feel sorry for the workforce so quickly abandoned and betrayed.

Remember the Two Johns sketch?

How do we ensure that the public get value for money?
Well, we have in place a robust system of checks and balances.
How does that work?
They ask for the money, and we say, yes.

Might have had some Lotus input but a lot of Renault as well.

Just like MG/Rover;made some people rich-just not us!!!

Can someone change the spelling at the top to DeLorean before this pedant starts weeping? : )

It seemed almost unethical to correct my own typo - well no-one else was going to do it so I've done it, wouldn't want to see you cry ! - PU
