front suspension - Kingpin
I have a 2002 Astra 1.6 Club, 51000 miles, there is a knocking from the drivers side front corner when driving over rough ground or speed humps. I suspect it is the bottom ball joint.
I have ordered 2 new wishbones complete with ball joint and new bushes, the haynes manual states you should also renew the pivot bolts holding the wishbone and possibly the small nut and bolt holding the ball joint onto the strut base.
Has anyone done these wishbones before, and re-used the bolts? I suspect they might be the 'nyloc' nut type and seized on if original so possibly main dealer will have replacements.
I hope if fixes the noise, I had a Peugeot 405 with a similar sound and it turned out to be the bottom ball joint on that. I know the anti-roll bar bushes may be another area to explore.

Similar noise on my 2001 Vectra - turned out to be the ant-roll bar drop link. About £20 to fix.
