My mates 206 sometimes refuses to start. Turn the key - all ignition lights show - turn it againto start and nothing happens - not even a flicker from the starter. Can return to the car later on and it starts perfectly - any ideas please?

Logically the first place to start is the battery, check the terminals are clean and tight, then check the earth connection to the chassis, make sure it is clean and not loose. If that doesn't do it try borrowing another battery, make sure its rated the same i. e. amps, if that solves the problem buy a new battery.
If none of that works, try the Alternator connections to make sure they are clean and tight.
If all that fails you really need an auto electrician, it could be a number of things.
