The horn on my Mazda 6 is not working. I want to check it but after looking for ages I cant find the damn thing! Anyone know where it is please? Also is it protected by a fuse? If so which one? Any help would be very much appreciated.

im guessing around the front bumper area probably near the bottom, can you take the front grill out were the radiator is and see if it's in there?.

In front of the wheelarch liner??

Thanks jc2. It could be there but there is no way in and no wires seem to go into that area.

I've just checked my 2005 Mazda 6 manual and there's no mention of the horn in the fuse diagrams. (The 6 has two fuse boxes by the way - one under a cover in the engine bay and one in the passenger footwell)
I'm afraid it doesn't mention where the horn is located.
If you're desperate, I could get someone to hit it and try and listen for you, but I'm not sure I fancy sticking my head under the bonnet with that thing going off !

Thanks Mikej. I checked my manual as well and you are right no mention of a fuze and it does not say where the horn is. If it worked I could get someone to hit it and then listen but if it was working I would not be looking for it!

Thanks for the replies. Now solved it. The horn is located under the off-side headlamp and there is an access plate underneath. It is fuzed via the brake-light fuze no 15 under the bonnet. 15 amp fuze listed in the manual as brake. It is also controlled by a relay in the fuze box under the bonnet. In my case the fuze had blown.

I don't mind finding out how to build illegal lasers (not that I'd do it) or how to get off with speeding ('course not officer) or other offences (not me judge) but I do mind bad spelling! it's FUSE with an S!

What's the plural of few? ;>)

Thanks for the update, Del.
Now the rest of us with a Mazda6 know where to look if we have problems in that area.
