I think it's very blokeish of you all to jeer at the pink Audi.
It looks terrific in that colour actually, for an Audi.

Very interesting sit on the psychology of colours.

Black - you can't see it, and it's hot in the sun.
What colour is my car? Black....one of the downsides of Bangernomics!

Is it illogical? It must be Citroen....

BLUE. Intellectual.
Positive: Intelligence, communication, trust, efficiency, serenity, duty, logic, coolness, reflection, calm.
Negative: Coldness, aloofness, lack of emotion, unfriendliness.
I agree with the Positives, but the Negatives are all wrong ;-)

Lud, you're not a hairdresser by any chance?
|
It depends heavily on the car/colour combo IMO
As a rule, I hate white, but it is IMO the best colour of the lot on the mkV Golf GTI. Just sets off the red grille strips and dark trim detailing beautifully.
Lurid yellows and dayglo greens look ridiculous on run of the mill saloons and hatches, but the likes of the Lamborghini Gallardo and Lotus Exige look fantastic in these colours.
For example:

www.edge-inc.net/images/cars/lamborghinimurcielago...g
But if I saw someone in an Audi A4 or a Mondeo or any other run of the mill box in either of these colours I would laugh, just before throwing up.;-)
Cheers

My most liked colours: dark reds, dark greens and dark blues

My most liked colours: ........ dark greens and dark blues
I used to think that way until I found that dark coloured cars got a high number of dings in carparks.

Lud you're not a hairdresser by any chance?
One of the most famous in the world.
All the stuff about having been a hack and minicab driver and owning a 12-year-old Ford Escort is pure affectation. Really I've been a snipper all along and drive a puce stretch Hummer. Just ask around. Everyone knows me.

Why do the people who get most worked up about their car's colour always paint their houses magnolia?
|
Because if it was any other colour they would get worked up perhaps?

Further to the lilac Audi convertible: I have a 1974 Porsche 911 RSR 2.7, with slicks, tiny racing door mirrors and a roll cage, in unblemished darkish shocking pink. It looks absolutely stunning, and the colour takes on a certain ferocity with the whale tail and very wide rear wheels.
Pity it's only a small model four inches long.

Clove Brown -- mid 1980s Austin Rover colour. Used to get picked up from school in a brown Montego 1.6L around that time. Scarred for life....

I hereby apologise for an offence taken through the posting of the pictures of my new car ;-)

Yes accept what your saying...I was busy looking for the prettier coupe version though !
In fact having had a closer look at it, its quite a nice looking 309....

Is it just me or are there three more pink cars parked behind it?...
|
Yes, looks like a collector of pink cars.

Can't help thinking the Back Room's grand piano must have prim little covers on its legs!
As I sit here with my china cup of Earl Grey I glance across and yes it has.......and the antimacassars are all hand woven and the "Lock" button is made of green enamel....PU

In the early 80's I ran a custard coloured Datsun 160B. My kids flatly refused to travel in it, (female teenagers). They obviously have far better taste than me. The benefit was that my wife's car did all the "Taxi" runs. I think my worst colour disasters were, Datsun custard, and BL poo. My current car is silver so there must be some hope for me.

i hate seeing bright Yellow cars on the road...but in the dealership i think they look fantastic..
a bmw dealer once told me that the yellow cars(yellow with black roofs)mini's....were part ex'd for a £1000 les.!!!
i also once saw a "hallequin" vw polo....was foul....i had a metallic green polo..i loved it.everyone else hated that colour

sometimes a little bit too much opinion....but its only because i care !!!

Bentley, Le Mans, 1920's and again 1990's? Jaguar C and D Types, Le Mans, 1950's?

I'm getting a bit bored with so many silver cars. Silver was never one of my favourite colours. But the worst on recent cars was the metallic pink seen on Honda Jazz or that pearlescent green/brown 'dirty car effect' paint they used on Renault Lagunas a few years ago.
But the worst colour on the roads these days is the dayglo red used on Dyno-Rod vans. These almost hurt the eyes. Literally an eyesore!
|
Saw a pink Ka today......:-p
|
Thank you so much SS. Sarcasm is obviously lost on you.
Quite right too, it's the lowest form of wit or so people used to say.

>i also once saw a "hallequin" vw polo....was foul....
No no no, that car's an icon!
|
Having my I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue hat on, is an icon a digital fiddle ?
Anyway the Harlequin Polo was er...different and we must celebrate that ! Vauxhall tried to imitate it with their solid red cars, every panel ended up a different shade of red !

As the rusty allegro of fate drives into the MOT station of destiny, only time to show you the car I've had with the worst colour:

Much worse in the flesh. Loved the car though, just a shame about the hue.

Just had to mention, driving in "NORFF LONDON" today and saw a peppermint green SKODA,
awful truly awful.
Also always avoided RED cars, after I was told about the potential of bored traffic cops deciding to play snooker on very quite nights- stop a red car, then a colour then a red etc, and so who ends up with the most points.
Wouldn't bother me so much now as you rarely see a traffic cop !!
|
..stop a red car, then a colour then a red etc, and so who ends up with the most points.
I would have thought that being in a black car would have been worse as you'd be worth the most points and highly in demand :)
Good luck finding a pink one for the 147 though...

Nothing wrong with the paint job.
It's the car that's the worst, most reluctant lump of overpriced carp ever put out by a manufacturer.
