VW Golf sunroof

VW Golf sunroof - johnny
Guy across the road had gone away for a couple of weeks and left his sunroof up. Anything I can do to close it? If the rain's vertical it should be OK, but bearing in mind the current weather I can see his upholstery getting wet.

Cling film stretched across from gutter to gutter several times? Or better still, if you know anyone who works in a supermarket or warehouse, pallet wrap?
