lhd auto wanted - spikeyhead {p}
I'm after a left hand drive auto small medium sized, preferably jap for reliability up to about £3k

Any ideas how I can actually search for suitable cars for sale?

There's plenty in America! ;-)

Seriously, might be a better bet sourcing a car from Germany - is the only nearby country that buys automatics in any quantity. They'll most likely be VAG rather than Japanese though, but should be type-approved to register in the UK. Your likelihood of sourcing such a car in this country is almost zero.

There's quite a thriving 'subculture' of LHD cars in the UK. A lot are run by people who spend a lot of time in France/Spain etc.

You could try to source one in Holland, Belgium or Germany - they all buy lots of Japanese cars - fairly straightforward. Or you could look on Ebay or do a Google search for one of the UK-based specialists. A company called 'Transeuropean' has sold LHD new and used cars for many years.
