Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace a VW match alloy please?
|
Any idea what the year of the car is? And what sort of alloys it has?
|
Oh, and why does it need replacing as opposed to refurbing?
|
EBAY is the way
dont think you will get a new one from the dealers

I think that model's wheels are known as the 'Canberra' and have ten spokes. On the official spares site VW list a 15" ten spoke wheel for £161 so I think that's probably a fair ballpark figure.
Refurbing is where you attempt to repair damage to an existing alloy by various mwans, depending on the nature of the damage.

If the wheel isn't cracked making it a safety issue save your cash. Time to change it is just before you sell the car, if at all.
OK it doesn't look as nice and you are porbably annoyed with yourself (I caught my A2 wheel two days after I took delivery, I was p'd of for a while but I never changed it), but cars get chips, scrapes etc.
Change it now, catch it again next week then what? Another new wheel?

I would get it refurbished.
I just all 4 alloys on my M3 refurbished since I've managed, at one time or another in the last 3 years, to kerb all 4 of them. I got the work done at a specialist who also X-rayed the wheels to make sure there was nothing other than superficial damage. To be honest I can't remember the wheels looking that good even when I bought the car.
