I need to tap a hole for a 1/8th NPT fitting (for a boost gauge). But I can't find a tap anywhere. Is it the same as BSPF?

No. This is an American pipe thread - get the right tap from a specialist supplier. BSP threads are based on Whitworth pitches.
659.

BSP or BSG.BSP is parallel thread-BSG is tapered but both are same TPI.

Can you get an adapter, i.e 1/8th to metric, and tap a metric thread?

1/8th inch NPT is an American Imperial pipe thread (National Pipe Taper Thread ~ NPT)
Some of the sizes actually match up with BSP but its hit and miss because the thread pitch is often different. The 1/8" signifies that its the dia of thread that you would put on the outside diameter of a 1/8 nominal bore pipe. Most companies supplying pipe fittings should be able to point you in the right direction. Try Cromwell Tools they have them in stock but they are £18.39 each (www.cromwell.co.uk)
