just interested in a bubble balancer are they any good? i have used the normal electric machines before.
Any idea of a price on these?? many thanks bigtee.

They are only any good for static balancing - i.e., they only do half a job.
Unless you are balancing hundreds of tyres, it's cheaper to pay to use someone's electrical dynamic balancer. If you are balancing hundreds of tyres, it's worth buying your own electrical dynamic balancer.
IMO, bubble balancers aren't worth giving workshop space to.

As i have said before i have one at work, its my second one in 20 years.
I probably use it once a fortnight ,its free of maintainance upkeep ,it works and i highly recommend it
Bare in mind im talking bread and butter motor wheels here, not alloys that i cant even get the tyres off without damaging the rims, these go to my local tyre dealer for fit and balance.
So to summarise yes they work i believe you can buy them for about £50 now so if you run a run of the mill car like a mondeo ,fiesta,corsa,punto etc then they are worth their weight in cast iron..........

Thanks bell boy, i do a few car's now & again i have a tyre machine just makes sense to balance aswell, not into buying the big electronic unless the mobile 12 volts come along!..

Used to use these with race car wheels, so 10 & 12inch wide by 13inch diameter going faster than most road cars do & they were fine.

But on race cars yopu are not so interested in a tremor free steering for high speed cruising for prolonged periods, as you would be on a road car. The bubble tester may be okay to get rid of basic eccentric imbalance, but it is a matter of luck whether or not each individual tyre requires more dynamic balancing. I would only trust a bubble balancer for basic vehicles used for non motorway driving, ie delivery vans etc, as non-dynamic wheel balancing will ultimately catch you out on larger diameter wheels used for high speed cruising.
