Friend has above car - ABS "ring" on end of the driveshaft (front) has a crack in it but he has been told that it can't be replaced without replacing the whole driveshaft - about £300 for the part!
I told him that I thought I had read on here that the "ring" could be obtained separately, but I have done a forum search and can't find any reference to it.
Can someone enlighten me - is it all one bit and does it cost £300? - seems rather a lot. I think his Maverick is a 2002 model, 2 litre petrol.
Thanks

Thanks PU, That may well be it - didn't remember it too clearly and thought it referred to Ford.
He realises it needs to be done but thought it a bit odd that the whole driveshaft needed doing and that £300 was a bit steep for a driveshaft anyway.
I think he is going down the "breaker's yard" route - at present not very successfully I gather.
Thanks again

tell him to put a call on 24/7 spares via google, there is no charge for this service, but i think he will be looking for the cv end rather than just the abs ring
