Primera Mk2 Cambelt?

Primera Mk2 Cambelt? - Chris White
Hi

I've got a Mk2 Nissan Primera 2.0 (a 1997 on a P plate) has done 76K.

Does this engine have a cambelt? I know some Nissan engines don't.....

If it does, how often does it need to be changed?

think this is the sr20 engine which is chain driven. nissan didn't fit cambelts on primeras, correct me if im wrong.

No cambelt. Most (not all) Nissan engines use a chain driven cam.

Do frequent oil changes (6 monthly) with a decent oil and OE Nissan filters and that will keep the engine sweet to very high miles.

Thanks for your replies. With the age of the car and the mileage I do (around 7K a year) I'm planning to do the 6-monthly oil changes.

Did that with a K-plate Proton 1.3 I had and got that up to 123K miles before I couldn't bear to drive it any longer......
