Astra CDTI what do we think? - Niallster
54 plate, old model Vauxhall Astra estate diesel manual 1.7 CDTI 50,000 miles black A1 condition.

I'm thinking about £4,000 but would welcome opinions on price and also anything in particular to look for.

are those miles genuine? most diesel drivers would be high miles folk to make the initial premium worth it

Niallster, take it for a long run and see how you get on with the seats. Some find they cause nasty backache etc. although I find them OK (´99 model year)

As Barchettaman says, the seats are REALLY painful for me - like having a fist in the centre of your back. Unless it has the sports style, which are firmer & more acceptable.

Value for money, competent vehicle, otherwise.

is this a throttle cable free model?
ie fly by wire~~?
take on a good run and make sure it works ok
check oil levels
consider an aftermarket warranty and factor into your price
i prefered the old clonky isuzus made by isuzi but time rolls on
