I'd imagine it'd be creating as many disclaimers & making sure they cover their backs, for when someone makes a silly mistake.

BIG mistakes don't need to be covered - they're easy to get out of,

Like 4x4's that turn over - blame the tyre company...like bonnets that come open, when driving - blame poor maintainence... like any bad/dangerous/inefficient design - call it a charecteristic of the vehicle.

Can I have my overpaid legal department job please!

You can end up doing vast numbers of things that have nothing to do with cars;for example,property,trade-marks,patents and so on.
