I was puzzled by the piece in Saturday's Torygraph Motoring about the 'new' Yaris. It said something along the lines of:
- Introduced 1999
- Facelifted c2005
- New now.
But the 'new' one pictured looks like what i thought to be the new one (new shape, "big small" per Clement Freud in the ads) introduced a couple of years ago.
Can anyone explain?

Yes, I too was confused by this. The adjacent review of the very mildly updated (i.e. tinted windows) Landcruiser suggested to me that the Toyota PR dept. have been schmoozing with the Torygraphs Motoring Editor.

Not seen the Telegraph advert. But I believe that an 'all new' Yaris came out within the past year.
Was looking at the new and previous model with SWMBO a few weeks back. Is a major difference in styling and interior IIRC.

There's only the original from 1999 and the new model which came out early in 2006 I think. Elder daughter has had a 1.3 since April 06 and I think that was one of the first. The list price seemed high when they came out, but they did some good PCP deals on them, and others have now caught up anyway.

I HAD figured it right then. Thanks.
