No reverse or 5th on N reg diesel corsa - borrowed corsa
Hi

I have borrowed the mother in laws corsa as i have broke my cinqucento, and now it will not go into revese or 5th gear.

I hoped that it was just because it was hot, as i drove it more in a day than it usually does in a month.

When i tried it this morning after sitting all night it still would not, it is as if the shifter no longer goes across far enough for reverse or 5th.

I hope it is something simple, as i dont want two repair bills

Sounds like something gone wrong with the gear linkage, which apparently is not unusual with Corsas'. Have a look at the linkage (both ends) while someone works the lever, and see if there's lost movement somewhere.
