Written off cars - Paul E
This is not a joke - anyone have any ideas who may be interesting in picking up a written off Fiat Uno Fire for parts etc. from the Surrey / South West London area? Someone who wouldn't charge? Is there any possibility?
Re: Written off cars - Dan J
From experience of living in that area, why not do what so many others do:

Take the registration plates off it and leave it either somewhere round Battersea or even better on the hard shoulder of the A3.

This rule seems to apply to unwanted and written off cars, troublesome pets and partners and virtually anything the scrapman would charge you to take away.

Over the next three weeks you'll be able to watch any useful bits disappearing from the car before the council get annoyed with it and remove it. It's ironic really - you'd never give it away but once it it on the side of the road people don't seem to be able to help themselves! I have seen, and this is the honest truth, the entire engine disappear overnight from a 2.9 Granada...

You'd have to remove the VIN number / engine number as well.
