2 classis car restorers found a wallet with ID stuck down the seat of a car they bought for restoring. It had been there since it slipped out of the pocket of an appropriately named Mr Goodlove whilst he was making out with a young lady in 1946. He is still alive and the wallet and contents are on way to him by post.

why on earth would you change your name from Putnam to Goodlove.....plus i'm certain you'd remember losing your military Id Card.........you'd have hassle, a rollocking and maybe sanctions for doing that, especially all those years ago
more to this yarn methinks
maybe i'm just too cynical?

can you remember the excuses that some people would come out with...one of our lot came out with a yarn that the fishing boat he was on sank in the English Channel.......got away with it too....but bet he sweated for a while, cos if it turned up in some dingy night club he'd have some explaining to do wouldn't he.......
it used to cost 3 days pay, to lose a police warrant card
