Strange structure by side of M5 - csgmart
Does anyone know what the strange structure currently being built by the side of the M5 is? This appears to the left of the southbound M5 just after junction 11a.

It looks like a load of sandbangs have been piled high and then loads and loads of clay have been added in between the 2 'walls' of sand bags to build a 'road' up high.

Most strange and it's puzzling me to what it is for. Anyone know?

It's a work of art, and it will be known as "The Angel of the Midlands". ;-)

Gloucester is a mere 63 miles from Meriden, which is the geographical centre of the country.

May be so, but Gloucester is really "The South West" as opposed to "The Midlands" IMO. 63 miles is quite a long way, enough in this case to make the difference.

Afterall using the "it's only xx miles" argument we could say that parts of Wales [those boardering with England] are in "The Midlands" etc etc. Not so?

Head on M60 clockwise past J10 (Trafford PArk) and there is the most strange structure I have ever seen like agiant ski junp?

What is it, im not from manchester but pass it several time a week?

The M60 one in the post above IS a new indoors ski slope!

I'm assuming that when they've finished there will have filled in the gap underneath with cladding and facilities within.

Shame really, as that is a civil engineering masterpeice - it should be left for all to see!
