...in Jordan.
From the Jordan Times:
"The new plates will also be colour classified according to their respective categories: Government, diplomatic, rental, parliament, judiciary, temporary, private and public transportation, as well as motorcycles, among others."
Perhaps a step too far for Mr Blair and his control freak colleagues.

sounds a good idea to me----------- let me think
red----for idiots
yellow---------for slow drivers
black---------for old geezers with pork pie hats (sorry hj)
green-------new drivers
pink------------silly girlies
blue...........for rover 75 owners
white.............for those that ignore line markings
etc
|
|
Perhaps we need a special colour for those of us who are retired so you can see who pays all there own motoring costs.

No way Pedro. I don't want to advertise the fact that I'm an oldie. I suppose I could counter it by wearing a baseball cap back to front!

What colour if you're an idiotic, old geezer that's just passed his test in his Rover 75, drives slow and ignores line markings ? ;o)

I am trying to think of an appropriate colour for those driving silver or black VW Golfs /Audis /BMW's/M.Benz , the only colour is some kind of brown or rather the orifice from which it eludes .

Oooh I've just thought of one - perhaps for small minded bigots who stereotype cars by their country of origin and colour ! ;-)

And who don't know what 'elude' means.

I assumed he meant exude, but didn't want to sound too rude in correcting his English usage.

Elude , poor choice of wording Dictionary quote "to escape from" . Interesting piece of hypocrisy I mention some of the worst drivers on the road whilst others cite Rover 75 drivers as old gits , still I agree I am a bigot .

Nothing wrong with that in the rigt place - sticks and stones etc etc.

This could cause some problems with internal security
In Florida I believe they discontinued the rental distinction to reduce the incidences of carjacking of tourists.
In the UK the government abolished the service personnel plates in the late 80s on the basis that they marked them out as targets for terrorists.>> ...in Jordan.

You are quite correct - the toe rags involved used to look out for Hertz, Alamo etc signs on vehicles.

Are there such things as Toe Rags in the US ? I saw them as a peculiarly British sort of street urchin/villan.

No, I believe they're called tire rags over there as they've all got cars ;)

I regularly pass a car that has a number plate consisting simply of 4 digits - no letters.
Like "2345" except that obviously I can't reveal the real number for security reasons.
What kind of organisation would that be?
|
|
Number plates in Cuba are colour coded in much the same way.

Could be Jersey or Gurnsey both use all numeric number plates.>> I regularly pass a car that has a number plate consisting simply of 4 digits

Guernsey has all-numeric registrations (anything up to 5 digits); Jersey registrations compries a number with a "J" prefix.

In Hollad all taxi plates are blue - this reduces the likelihood of someone pretending to be a cab and picking up someone late at night with unpleasant intent.

From the title I thought you meant you could have them colour matched to your car!!!!

A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

I guess a rainbow effect?

I guess that this profile fits me quite well . How old are you and what do you drive ? Forgot to mention I also ride a bike as well .
