Just a note to commend them. Renewed yesterday, their call centre staff answered on the second ring after navgating a single layer "press 1 etc" menu, excellent knowledgable discussion about insuring a second bike on one policy (more of which in a later thread) - and what's more understood a motorcyclist's mentality in accepting vague answers as to exactly what the hypothetical machine might be, clear cut answers about riding abroad on a whim. Policy documents arrived today (!) - really superb.

Really superb , no , thats normal what the others do most of the time is not normal , why should we be suprised by good service ?
|
you're right, how disappointing.
|
Don't be sarcastic ! We should applaud good service but not normal service and we all like a good moan . Oh and you're one of those awful motorcyclists .

'rover 75' - Should you not be out doing 29mph on a NSL road? It's a perfect day for it - a great driving day. Go on...
;o)

I was trying to convey a little humour, anyway I always do at least 30mph and 35mph on my DBD 34 in 2nd gear .

I too have always found Carole Nash to be a pleasure to deal with on the whole. The only reason that my insurance is no longer through them is because they couldn't match my best quote last time.
I do think though that often our perception of these companies is down to the person that answers the phone at their end. Sometimes you strike lucky and get someone who is excellent, but sometimes you get a complete numpty and it puts you right off giving them your business. Its just luck of the draw.
The only other thing that bothers me about Carole Nash is the vast amounts of money that they must spend (waste) on advertisment and sponsorship. Like a lot of the big and also the small bike shows often have a decent Carole Nash stand, with bikes on show and loads of freebies. Do they not also sponsor some of the biking events shown on the telly (along with the likes of Bennetts)? I'm not complaining as such, but it must cost a fortune each year to keep that level of PR going on. It sometimes makes you wonder if their quotes would be a little more reasonable if they weren't so high profile.

Thaks for the report Pugulgly, I heard they are very good from other forums as well. Will at least give them a try on my renewal in August.
Thanks

I found eBike undercut Carole Nash and others when I renewed last June and they have an excellent online system for declaring any modifications, an instant quote even for a modified bike, a downloadable cover note, we now have both cars with eCar too, the premium for my Mondeo went from £440 (NU Direct) to £240, same cover, two drivers, business use etc.
|
Last year when I got the trike Carole Nash quoted me £800 for a limited mileage policy - Bikesure were willing to take my full no-claims from the car and charged me £300 for the same policy. Will try CN again this year though, just to see. Sureterm may also be a possibility.

Vroom, vroom - mmm, doughnuts ...

Yes, I went to ebike this year - peanuts (can't remember the exact figure) to add a second bike to the policy.
