injury in rear end shunt - injection doc
Has anyone else recived a serious back injury from being hit from behind at high speed? I had a briefcase behind the drivers seat & when the seat broke/collasped it broke over the brief case shearing the briefcase in two and leaving about 6 inches of the seat upright intact which meant as I submarined out of the seat I got more than I bargined for. I was on the motorway stopped at the end of a traffic que so it hurt!
The biggest lesson for all is don't travel with a brief case behind your seat!

It could be worse, an elderly couple were killed last week, in what police described a surviveable accident (head on estimated COMBINED speed at no more than 40MPH)

They had fatal head and neck injuries caused by the unrestrained luggage flying from the back

.. I was on the motorway stopped at the end of a traffic que so it hurt! The biggest lesson for all


the lesson i learnt from a similar near-miss shunt was that when in motorway queue, to keep a big gap to the car in front and pay special attention to any potential tailgating idiot behind. particularly when first approaching the queue but to continue to do so even after the traffic is crawling along.
