Isn't this similar to stating the obvious? If you put your hand close to the nozzle dispensing a high pressure water jet it wouldn't do you any favours either. Like CGNorwich said above, as long as you use your common sense then you will be just fine.

Darwinism continues to prove there are a lot of people whose actions with cars belong to the species " with a death wish"...

And there are an awful lot of people who are technophonbes and who lack common sense.....so what may be obvious to you or me.. just is not....

Got to say im pretty careful when i power wash tyres but even ive left brown marks on the sidewalls ,i didnt realise i was causing actual casing damage though, so the warning even to me is a good one.
