MB to sell Chrysler. Who will buy it? - uk_in_usa
It's a shame.. my sister in law has a Jeep Cherokee she's had for 10 years from new, done well over 100,000, still going strong and costing little to run. I have a Chrysler Pacifica, I got it at 1 year old with 12,000 on the clock for $24k. It's got full leather, 4WD, Sat Nav, and a builtin DVD player. I've put about 18,000 on it in 2 years, and it's cost me no more than the odd oil change. So I can't complain about them either.

Some good products, lousy company.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy a US car maker, though the odd carefully selected brand might be attractive. The D-C merger seems to have benefited no-one, and coincided with a serious dent in M-B's reputation for quality. Mind you, it did give us the Crossfire. Anything else?

I can't believe that GM are rumoured to be interested, are they trying to go bankrupt or what?

I'm surprised PSA Peugeot Citroën aren't sniffing around though, it seems the Jeep side of the business and the semi-luxury Chrysler brand could complement their own product ranges well.

I can't thing of anyone else who'd want it, even the ambitious Chinese think it's a dead horse.

Who will buy it?

Someone that wants their distribution franchises or someone who does not want someone else to get their hands on the outlets.

If they did, they would obviously rename them 'Talbot'
