Audi A6 Lights - Peter D
I have recently aquired an Audi A6 1.8T SE 1998 and notice that the dipped beam illumination is quite poor. It is the version with the Spherical Lense dipped beam. I have tried new suprbrite buls bur it made very little different. Is this really had they are. Regards Peter

You may well have checked this but make sure that if you have a switch to raise and lower your lights (for heavy loads in the back) that it is not set at the lowest setting.

Had this on a renault and thought lights were poor until I raised the lights. What a difference!

Take a look (as best you can) at the lenses surface. I have seen some of these where the lens has gone sort of 'matt' and massively reduced the light output - must be some kind of coating on them that deteriorates (possibly with condensation??). Might also be worth taking the car to MoT station and asking them to put it on the beam setter and make sure they are adjusted properly.

Aprilia. Is this a strip and clean, the lense that is. or a new light unit. I recall an old colleague had a lense type that had a light blue coating but mine has actually got the original german made blue tinted 55W bulbs. Regards Peter
