Why not buy a Xsara vts with the engine ready fitted? That way you will also get the suspension, brakes and gearbox designed to cope with the power and weight of the engine.

How rich are you ricksta? You will certainly need some money if you're thinking of something like that. But if you've got it, why not trade the C2 in for something a bit quicker? Less trouble all round, cheaper and more satisfactory in the long run. Your idea is crazy.

You'd be better off putting in a Rover V8 engine, not a micky mouse 2 litre 4 pot. They're made of ally so don't weigh much, and they make a proper sound. Little 4 cylinder engines just sound like sowing machines.
I put a Rover V8 in my old Mark1 Escort, and it would blow an RS2000 into the weeds.

First stumbling block, C2 is multiplexed, you will need another multplexed lump to drop in & then find someone who can set it up to the cars BSI unit.
