Vectra 1.8 yr 2004
central locking not being activated to secure boot (5 door) consequently car insecure over weekend any ideas help would be well appreciated (have checked fuses)

I take it the car doors are locking and it's just the boot that isn't?
Searching around on forum.vectra-c.com I found the following.
Raise the tailgate
Insert a screwdriver into the hole next to the lock and PUSH
Insert the key into ignition, turn to electrics on, press tailgate unlock button, remove key from ignition
The lock motor should now be heard (which it was)
Lower tailgate and close
Failing that, it might be a faulty lock soleniod. As it's a 2004, is it not still under the 3 yr warranty, or it is pre March 2004 or has done more than 60,000 miles?

Thanks Dave, did,nt realize still under warranty took it in sat morning and they fitted a new lock (soleniod) as you rightly pointed out
