The problem with doing the research is that it could very easily have produced evidence, perhaps even overwhelming evidence, that they have saved no lives.

Imagine the embarrassment.

Best thing to do is the cancel the research, as that way it'll never be proven, and the Govt. can continue pumping out the message that cameras work.
