I have a 1999 old shape 1700 diesel van and have bought an old shape mini 1000.
I have arranged a trailer that is not a full sized car trailer and need to know if the van will be able to legally tow the car and trailer ok. I need to find the weight of the trailer I know but I get the feeling it will be too heavy to tow legally. The Vauxhall handbook gives such vague info on towing it is as good as useless.

Does the trailer have a max gross weight marked on it's plate? There should be a max train weight on the van's spec plate [under the bonnet?]

That's all that matters with a commercial; if the gross train is OK to cover the van and trailer's combined gross weight them you're legal.
