Diesel smells - Simon R
OK - I need some help.

Diesel seems to have a half life of 25 years. I drove a diesel car 4 weeks ago and made the mistake of filling it up without using the plastic gloves. Seems I then used my PC keyboard and mouse. Bloody stuff still stinks even after all this time and every time I access the backroom I'm left with the horrible reminder of oil buring engines!

Any ideas how I can finally get rid of the smell (household cleaners don't seem to work).

Use it as aftershave. You stop noticing it after a while.

I don't know if manufacturers have de-odourised diesel fuel to suit the current market, but until a few years ago it really used to stink. Todays stuff is sweet smelling compared with what it used to be.

That's one of the reasons it's so dangerous when spilled at roundabouts. You have my sympathy - it's revolting stuff.

put a can of unleaded in the room with the top off.
