Does anyone know how often you will need to fill the blutec tank on a MB diesel when it is introduced (also licensed to VW / Audi), how much the stuff is likely to cost and what happens if you forget to fill it i.e. will the car still drive.

Is Blutec similar to EOLYS as used by PSA diesels? If it is you are looking at £25 a litre and PSA cars need 5 litres for 60K miles of normal driving/

What is the effect of not having this additive? Presumably the particulate emissions go up (not meeting Euro IV standard?) but is this actually effectively measured in MoT test yet (or will it be in 2 years time).

I guess the cat gradually chokes up if you don't use it - along with appropriate warning light coming on. No idea of the cost...but I suspect there is no real option other than to refill if you want the car to drive properly.
