You're right, all those spotless shiny bodies are surprising. As is that complete red sports car with keys in and apparently not a mark on it!

Also interesting if you scroll right to the end is the huge room filled with body shells

No, you haven't seen these pictures before. They aren't 'famous' and they were not taken last year.

They were taken when the photographer said they were taken. He didn't even know about Longbridge until we posted up our visits from November and December (in January).

Pretty sad (in the old fashioned sense of the word) was R4's PM article on the Chinese factory that featured some Brummie ex-pats explaining their roles "on the V6 line", those superbly rounded vowels that expressed an unique longing and nostalgic emotion that belied the apparent enthusiasm for the brave new world they found themselves in - TV could never come close to this acme of the radioman's art. Magical and tragic in a few well chosen words.
