I think I've damaged my car on a pothole and am fuming. I've seen a new site called potholes.co.uk and they say you can claim, I'm going to follow their advice but has anyone else got an experience they can help
me with?

About 25 million have pothole experience!
Somewhere else here, I did read that you can sue, and that local Councils are increasingly being sued for damage.

Potholes in the carriageway deep and sharp-edged enough to cause actual damage to tyre, wheel or suspension are quite unusual in this country although they can be found elsewhere.
What do you think the damage was amandaa?

I believe you will have to prove negligence, to do that you will need to ask for a disclosure of their maintenance schedule and all inspections of the road in question and reports by members of the public about road faults on the road in question.
You will then have to show either they did not inspect the road sufficiently often enough or that having been aware of the fault they did not repair it in a reasonable time.
This isn't SPAM for the website is it?

'Periloue' is an old warning shouted out by pioneer motorists to warn others of potholes so that they could circumvent them,'peri'-from the Greek for around and 'loue'being a corruption of the French for water(as potholes usually contain water).
