The low pump vacuum level that was the likeliest cause of the OP's woes would have progressed to limp-home pretty quickly; so it's probably been sorted - or sold.

thanks for your replys about the above but the light dosent seem to come on now but
the rear door central locking has stopped working so im assuming it was the rear door causing the problems who nos

I strongly suspepct that this remote locking issue will be due to damage to the wiring loom between the rear door and the 'B' pillar. This has been covered before here, and should be somewhere in the archive. In short, the edge of the door rubs on the loom under the gaiter and knackers the wiring, fairly easy to fix if you're handy with a soldering iron, not sure what a dealer would do about it :-/.
