Hi,

I own a 95 Ford Mondeo 1.8lx with 105k on the clock. i have recently been experiencing an intermittent but harsh vibration at speeds of anywhere over 50mph which are only present under load. as soon as i lift off the throttle it disappears. it is intermittent and can run for several miles on the motorway with no sign of the problem but then it gradually reappears. there is no loss of power - only an increase in the vibration when i apply the accelerator. the problem is not evident at lower speeds and happens at high revs 3rd gear, 4th and 5th gears - presumably because i get to a high enough speed? i have changed the plugs and had an automotive engineer friend of mine to check it over to which there is nothing obviously wrong with it.

Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing it or things i could get checked out?
