Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 16V - oil leak - wesleywain

Without visiting a garage would anyone know why my Vectra is losing oil from what looks like oil sensor at the bottom of the front of the engine (horse shoe type clip holding sensor in), seems to get worse when left weekend without starting. Also anyone have a idea how much from empty the 2.0 Vectra engine takes of oil. Dip stick is night mare to read. Thanx.
