92 Orion 1.4 CFi central locking with knackered locks all round. Please can someone clarify which locks will fit this, ie Escort Mk 4, 5, 6, Fiesta etc -I don't believe that Fiesta or others will fit, but Escort might?. Orion locks are thin on the ground from scrappies or E-bay, but Escort sets are plentiful. Any definative clarification would be welcome. If Escort do fit is there any difference between 92 and later non transponder models, or should I get a set and use the bits to re-build the existing barrels?

Are you sure it's the locks that are knackered and not just the key(s)?
I thought the locks had had it on a '95 Fiesta I had last year. It seemed as if they were failing one by one and the ignition was becoming harder and harder to turn. Local garage looked at it and were going down the replacement lcks route too, quoting around £200 - £250 to do the job.
I decide to but a lock set and have a bash myself, however a knowledgeable guy at the Ford parts dept suggested that it might just be knackered keys (they were certainly well-worn). The cheap way to find out was to buy a blank key without a chip in it for approx £6 and get them to cut it to match the existing key. It couldn't be used to start the Fiesta due to lack of chip but it would prove whether the door locks were u/s or not. In my case the new key worked fine in the doors and boot lid, so the locks weren't the problem. Then I simply bought a couple of new 'chipped' keys (cost around £42 for the pair, from memory) which Ford cut to match, then programmed them in a few minutes as per the handbook (Ford offered to do this too if I had problems).
This might work for you unless you're positive that your locks have had it. At worst you will have only wasted a few £.
Good luck with it.

Keys are worn out, the little spare key (without fob) works fine in all of the locks except the drivers. So I think one worn out barrel and one worn out key!. I was going to replace the set if I could get one cheap off e-bay or similar, but want to know what will fit? Alternatively I could just rebuild the drivers door, but a rebuild kit from Ford is more expensive than a whole set from e-bay...
any help info welcome

www.gbmparts.co.uk/ sold me two lock kits for £15 each. Postage was £7 though it might be cheaper if you're only buying one.
