Van damaged at bodyshop - stunorthants26
Im about to throttle someone right about now!

I just noticed under the mud on the sills of my van, a huge rust patch.

Now I know that I cleaned it the day before it first went in the shop and it had no damage whatsoever to the sills.

Having cleaned away the mud and having looked at the rest of the sills, it appears that it was incorrectly jacked up on the sills rather than jacking points which in two other places has cracked the paint and is also starting to rust.

The rust patch however looks as if someone has ground away the damaged paint and then left the bare metal to the elements.
Its recent as there was still some bare metal showing through.

I just dont know what to say anymore - this whole saga has been a nightmare, start to finish!

I didnt notice it when I picked up the van because it wasnt one of the damaged areas and I didnt look. Unfortunatly ive lost my comeback as a result.

I just cant believe how badly this company operates.

Ive had to start repainting it myself before it gets any worse.
Luckily, in the summer I am planning to repaint the sills in much thicker paint to protect them longterm ( any suggestions as to what paint to use welcomed ), but even so, I am furious!!

Possibly use Finnegan's Smoothrite?

You certainly have had a lenghty trail of bad luck - hope it all ends satisfactorily.
