VW 'Midline' and 'Highline' differences - a900ss
Hi,

Could somebody please advise me the differences between the VW 'Midline' computer (new Touran SE) and the 'Highline' computer (Touran sport)?

Thanks

If it is the same as the one in my golf - the midline shows fuel info (average, current, distance to refuel), journey time & distance, speed warning, doors open, service info etc. The highline does all this & no doubt more but you can also adjust things such as seat belt warning noises, auto door locking etc which takes a trip to the dealer to amend if you only have the midline. Definately worth going for the highline depending on the cost of the option.

Also seems to enable more warnings, like the boot is open (a common problem) which is omited on the midline. Given the choice, go for the highline.

This all depends whether one is an inveterate fiddler or not. There are/is already too many things to fiddle with in modern cars and that can distract one from the actual driving of the car.
However, having said this I'd love to disable my seat belts' unfastened 'gong' on my VW Golf that is only fitted with the midline computer.

Presumable VAGCOM could do this at the dealers, but I like to keep as far away from these 'experts' as much as is possible - much like the medical profession!
