Hi,
Just wondered if anyone could advise whether £79 inc VAT and fitting is a good price for a Corsa windscreen? Not had a screen done before and thought it sounded pretty good as was expecting around £100.
Thanks

Normal fully comp insurance excess on glass replacement is between £50 to £60 so if your only TPFT then £79 all in sounds a bargain to me.

It's a good price for that job. In fact it sounds a little too cheap, just cheack that corners aren't being cut.
The screen in those cars are bonded and do need to be fitted spot on, so that there are no leaks, I see a lot of them where a messy glue line leads to gaps in the glue and water leaks.
Also the car may well require a replacement outer trim, they are about a 50/50 whether a new one is required (depends how well previous screens have been fitted).

Prices differ if you're paying not the insurance.

I've never known anyone have to pay for a new windscreen out of their own pocket. Replacement is usually required because of stone/accident damage.
Cornish Lass, what's the reason your car needs a new screen and are you sure it wouldn't be covered by your insurance? You'd more than likely have to pay a small excess, but it would normally be less than paying for the screen yourself.

Thanks for everyone's replies.
L'escargot - Car is only insured 3rd party and windscreen specifically not covered in the policy. Its hubby's car, had a large stone hit it just before Christmas and the chip has rapidly spread to a 6 inch crack, so definately needs replacing asap.
Thanks again,
