clutch pedal sticks down after motorway use, ok short stop & starts

I have an 02 Master bought and driven from new. 62k and the gearbox goes pop in 1st and 2nd. Main dealer says £1,800.00. + v.a.t. for a 'new' 'box and that is giving me a 25% discount on the labour. I will get thrown off this site if i say what I feel. I then went to an independent gearbox specialist who sorted the thing AND fitted a new clutch and then fitted new front wheel bearings at my request. Total bill.................£668.00. + v.a.t.
Renault refused a contribution. I was a big fan of the Master van, but I will never buy another............NEVER.
