corsa 1.7d -> 1.5 td

corsa 1.7d -> 1.5 td - James_dbrz
Just a quick question to find out if this is a worthwhile switch is the 1.5 td a better car to live with than the 1.7d (non turbo)

sorry i have at the moment a 1997 1.7 non turbo diesel corsa merit and was looking to purchase the 1994 1.5 turbo to replace it. My 1.7d is very hard to start when cold and a bit gutless i know the 1.5 turbo is not going to pull up any trees but i was wondering if it is better to drive than the 1.7d

if its a good 1.5 turbo then they are excellant,the reason i asked the year is because the engine is something like 1547cc and pre 2001 therefore the road tax is only £110 per annum umlike your large £170 ? now.
the 1.7 by the way shouldnt be gutless in a corsa so get shut if you can
ok?

thanks for the advice the tax was the main incentive for me i will get shot of the 1700 thanks for the advice :)

I had a 1.7 low pressure turbo diesel Astra van which was hard to start - try replacing the glowplugs and wait about 15-20 seconds longer with the glowplugs. That used to get mine going straight away.
