Judgement on Speed Limit Postings - No FM2R
>>He was convicted of speeding by Mendip magistrates in January 2006 and fined £250 and ordered to pay £150 legal costs.

That seems very heavy for 39mph in a 30 Limit. Or was he breaking the perceived 40mph limit as well ?

Some 40m.p.h. limit signs on a dual carrigeway were sprayed over during roadworks some time ago. They have been that way since,so,presumably,it would be possible to get away with doing 70,don't think I'll try tho.

That's what tends to happen if you take it to court though isn't it?? - don't the scamera lot threaten you with fines of "up to" £1000 ??
