Hi just failed MOT on severe brake judder, has been happening at speeds over 40mph for a few weeks, (checked that cylinders not leaking) told to replace discs and pads does this sound right??

if the mot man told you this then yes as you can see warped discs on the vu's as you do a brake test.
same advise if he had said you had warped drums
they were on offer at eurocar parts not long back for about £20 plus vat for discs and pads might be worth checking them out
