Applying wax/polish with a buffer - mss1tw
Is a buffer just as safe/effective in applying wax and polish to a car as by hand?

I buff them off afterwards by hand.

It's a lot easier...:-)

Make sure you just buff the bodywork rather than pressing down on the buffer in an effort to get an even better shine.

Forgot to say that; I just rest it on there and let it spin, don't really push down (Or try not to anyway)

It certainly saves on the arm ache.

These buffers don't have the torque to brake down an abrasive polish, but certainly do have enough to apply/remove a cleaner polish or wax.

I thought the idea was to apply by hand - the easy bit, and you can carefully avoid getting wax where you don't want it - and buff it off with the, er, buffer. The wax removal is generally the hard bit.

Not 'proper' wax I use - it's Turtle Wax - very viscous. Easy to apply by hand too, just slower/
