I've seen the Skoda one before, its a bad one innit!? Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time!! If you notice, not long before the tyre appears, a car drives past, this would have taken the impact. BTW, I read somewhere the guy sustained no serious injuries (hard to believe).>>

Brilliant !, presume the third one is caused by static though it looked like she had a quick puff of a fag before the fire, maybe some ash on her sleeve ?.

I thought it looked as if she got back in the car to light up !!!

Though the staff who ran around putting the filler hose back etc, seemed to make no effort whatsoever to see if he was OK?

It was lucky for him that he was not next to the lady with the exploding filler pipe as presumably as he had locked the filler nozzle on (he had his hands in his pockets) and must have been lying in an increasing pool of petrol, presuming it was not derv.

I am not surprised as there appears to be many copies of it and the nossle fire on the same site.
I tried to select the best versions. The Skoda version just happened to a little sharper.
Perhaps they need some mods like ours to tidy things up?

On last nights "The Bigger Picture with Graham Norton", he showed some shots of an old lady leaving a filling station. She managed to clip the end of the row of pumps in the next row to the one she had just used and then flip her car on the roof. Does anyone know if there is a clip of this?

Someone posted it just the other day. Something about the elderly and automatics I think. Elicited the usual flood of ageist guff.

Thanks Lud, I missed that post due to all those Bingo pop-unders.

The third is static electricity. She has no cigaret in her hands when she goes for the nozzle. You can see her using both hands to pull her jumper down after getting out of the car.
When she first takes the nozzle from the pump it is connected to earth by being where it is and so any static she has will discharge. She then goes into the car and shuffles about. That will charge her up with static which will discharge as soon as she touches the nozzle. The gas in the vicinity of the nozzle was just the right mixture for igniting.
