Has anyone else experienced trouble accessing www.theaa.com today? The website seems to partially load and then it hangs or freezes in IE 6 and I have difficulty in then proceeding and have to shut my computer down and re-boot.

I went on there and someone insisted I had to admit to having a drink problem before they could help me.

Be a man TVM, and spit it out. You'll feel better for sure, you know you will. A dark secret can be a terrible burden.

No, and I was on it earlier too, to see where I can find out where the hell my £20 M&S vouchers are!

Wossat do then ?

Not sure about when holding Shift, but holding down Ctrl while refreshing forces the browser to get a new copy from the web not load from a local cache.

Yeah, I find it OK now for some reason. Have to say that problem is nowhere near annoying as this ruddy website (HJ's I mean) as I have never come across any such website so littered with those annoying popups.
Why does this website suffer so much from this phenomenon? I visit and contribute to plenty of forum-based ones and they're perfectly OK and free from these time wasters (popups, I mean).

oldgit, how are those other websites funded?

No idea and I don't care but many are, what to me, appear to be amateur ones and they seem to manage OK.
Have a look at www.mkivs.net and www.avforums.com for starters. At least these are not a pain to access and use, are they? I don't wish to seem uncharitable but there are good and bad ones here on the internet.
Surely there is enough advertising on HJ's website to satisfy everyone concerned.

I don't have any trouble with popups, due to 'Block popup windows' being selected.
Try Firefox with the adblock addin or Internet Explorer 7 if you are using Windows.
You should also click the links from time to time to fund the site, especially if you were going to visit the site anyway.

oldgit,
If you've got XP ............
Tools > Internet options > Privacy, and then tick the "Block pop-ups" box. Works for me, anyway.
